BIOGRAPHY
Emily Harper was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 16, 1978 to David and Susan Harper. She has a sister named Jessica, who is also a dancer. She teaches hip-hop and yoga classes. Emily’s family moved around a good bit while she was growing up. Even though she was born in Cincinnati, she moved to other locations including St. Louis, then to New Jersey, back to St. Louis, and in her sophomore year of high school, she moved to California.
When Emily was younger, she engaged in musicals and plays. Music influenced Emily greatly while she was growing up, considering her mother, Susan, was a singer. When Emily and Jessica were younger, they would put on plays in their basement.
Emily attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California with dance as her intended major. She studied everything from ballet to African dancing to hip-hop, tap and jazz. Using her dancing skills, Emily auditioned to be a Laker Girl and won a spot. Emily started her position as a Laker Girl in 2000. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance. Throughout her years as a Laker Girl, Emily was chosen, along with four other dancers, to host Lakers TV. Lakers TV was shown on the Staples Center’s JumboTrons during the games. She interviewed everyone from Chick Hearn to Kobe Bryant to Andy Garcia. Many times, the interviews were last-minute. Emily maintained her position as a Laker Girl until 2003 and decided it was time for a change.
Emily moved on from the Laker Girls in order to improve her acting skills. Acting was always one of her passions and she wanted to dedicate herself to it 100 percent. Emily’s dedication paid off when she landed a role on NBC’s daytime soap opera, Passions. Her first air date was May 12, 2005. Emily portrayed Fancy Crane, the globe trotting, gorgeous granddaughter of Alistair Crane. Unfortunately, Passions was canceled and the last air date was August 7, 2008. There is news of Emily booking a new movie, but further information regarding the movie has not been released yet.
Her past television credits include hosting several seasons of both “Lakers TV” and “Sparks TV” as well as guest appearances on “The Jamie Kennedy Show” and the NBC comedy “Inside Schwartz.” Passions marked Harper’s acting debut as a series regular.

STYLE & BEAUTY

“I usually exofiliate once or twice a week. St. Ives Apricot Scrub is cheap, great, easy on the skin and smells good. It has microbeads in it, so it’s a buffer for your face; it gets rid of the dead skin cells. Exfoliators are a necessity and make your face feel so smooth.”
